We’re looking for talented software engineers to join our data platforms team and build the future systems for our expert content. You will be joining other extremely-passionate engineers that share a common interest in distributed systems, performance, scale, and solving problems with software and data. Main responsibility area:

develop and deploy concurrent, scalable, distributed systems.

support code development of a very high performance, memory intensive environment.

work primarily in Java or Scala, spanning other languages as needed (JavaScript).

collaborate with other software engineers, taking learning and leadership opportunities that will arise every single day.

work as part of highly-dynamic cross-functional agile teams in a variety of lightweight processes to drive and deliver on new product objectives

leverage a wide array of infrastructure technologies such as Hadoop, MongoDB, Cassandra, Kafka, Storm

 

Requirements:

excellent coding skills (bonus if you’re familiar with Scala).

know how to use UNIX or Linux.

excellent understanding of system design, data structures and algorithms

open-mindedness and ability to think outside the box

at least communicative English

don’t have experience in something listed? We don’t mind if you’re a quick study.

Bonus points:

experience or interest in Scala and Akka

experience or interest in Cassandra, Mongo, Hadoop or similar systems/frameworks

cloud computing

knowledge on web technologies (HTML, CSS)
